First Steps: October 2020 to December 2020

  • Start early and by November, shortlist 8-12 universities that you will apply to. Visit university websites and note application requirements, deadlines etc.
  • Begin by downloading admissions brochures from the university websites. Most brochures are out more than a year earlier.
  • By December, be familiar with bank loan options and scholarships to fund your studies.
  • Do some initial research on various accommodation options.

Crack the Exams: January 2021 to April 2021

  • Prepare for required standardized tests like GMAT, TOEFL or IELTS - depending on the course and university.
  • By January or two months before the test date, register for GMAT
  • Register for TOEFL/IELTS at least a month before the test date.
  • Take the required tests around March or AprilPlan for buffer time in case you need to retake the test.

It’s Application Time: April 2021 to May 2021

  • Shortlist the colleges and prepare for your application. Think hard about what makes you unique as an applicant and sketch out your strengths and self-assessment.
  • Contact your professors and direct managers for the required 2-3 reference letters. At least a month before your application deadline.
  • Begin drafting your SOP and essays. Give a month’s time to structure these documents properly.
  • Apply before the deadline!

What Next: June 2021

  • Don’t delay replying to college e-mails. And there will be quite a few!
  • You will receive your acceptance letter called COE (Confirmation of Enrolment). You may receive CoE in either May or June, depending on the institute. You can apply for a student visa only after receiving CoE.
  • Depending on the deadline, notify the universities of your decision.
  • You will need to pay a non-refundable deposit to confirm your admission.

Visa and Money Matters: Mid June 2021 to Early July 2021

  • Search for and begin applying for external scholarships (if applicable).
  • Apply for a student loan, after you get your acceptance letter.
  • Gather paperwork for your student visa. Check visa requirements.
  • Apply for a student visa in time. Keep in mind the time taken for visa processing!
  • Arrange for Overseas Student Health Cover.

Get Ready to Fly: Late June 2021 to July 2021

  • Book airline tickets.
  • Arrange for an Internation Debit/Credit card.
  • Collect all the documents and their photocopies, to take along.
  • Check out Pre-departure checklist!

Hi Pratibha,
快穿系统女主深吻h GMAT is not mandatory for every course. It depends upon the course you want to study and also the college you choose to study in. Could you tell which course your are planning to pursue?

Dear Kevisha,
快穿系统女主深吻h If you have the university admit from an Australian university then you need to check with the University whether or not they are calling their international students to attend the classes. Though in some places travel ban has lifted, it is the University's call to invite their students or provide online classes for now. So, it is recommended that you check on the University's official website for this information. Plan your visit to Australia only if your University communicates to do so.

Hi Tanya,
In order to apply for your visa, you need to provide your financial details to the visa officer. It is only if your loan is approved and you have secured your seat in a university abroad that you can file a visa application. If all of this is done well in May and your college has allowed you the bandwidth of May 2020 to get all this done, you can fly in July 2020 and still join the college orientation. All the best!

Dear Akashdeep,
It depends upon the University you choose to study in. Generally, the Australian universities require international applicants to score at least a 6.5 band on IELTS score. However, expectations are always there.
First, you have to be sure about the course you want to study. Then, you need to confirm whether the University you want to join offers a seat to the students with IELTS 5.5 bands. This can be checked on the University's official website in the eligibility criteria of your chosen course under the department in which you aspire to study.
快穿系统女主深吻h If you have a clarity of the course you want to study in Australia, you can also use the search bar on the top of this page. Just put the Course Name in and choose the location, Australia. A list of Universities will open, you can also add your exam score for a refined search.
